This recipe requires quite a bit of time, but the ribs end up tasting so good that it's well worth it. The best part is it doesn't require any special dry rub or barbecue sauce to make it taste great.
Ingredients:
- Dry rub ( about 2 table spoons )
- Barbecue sauce
- A rack of pork side/back ribs
Tools:
- Shallow roasting pan
- Oven with broiler function, or a barbecue
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 325F
- Wash the ribs clean and wipe it dry.
- Sprinkle the dry rub onto the ribs and rub it in.
- If your roasting pan came with a rack, fill half the pan with water.
If it does not, then fill the pan with 0.5 inch of water, and place several slices of lemon in the pan. - Place the rib onto the rack, or the lemon slices, meat-side up.
- Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
- Cook for 1.5 - 2 hours, depending on your preference.
For "meat falling off the bone" type of ribs, cook the ribs for 2 hours, and leave it in the oven for an extra half-hour.
For tender, but still meaty type of ribs, cook the ribs for 1.5 hour, and leave it in the oven for an extra half-hour. - Take the ribs out and remove the foil. If the ribs are a little wet from the water, let it dry a little.
At this point, you can also put the rib in the fridge for future use. Just let it cool to room temperature before putting it in the oven or onto the barbecue. - Cover the ribs completely with BBQ sauce. Broil the ribs for ~3 minutes if they are hot from the oven, and longer if it had been in the fridge.
Keep constant watch on them.
