Red Eye Flight to London

I had been exceptionally happy today for some inexplicable reason. Even the distance he continues to put between us couldn't affect my cheery mood. Neither can the crazy snow that comes down sideways.

It might be because I saw some promising flats on gumtree last night.
Or it might be because I have successfully decommissioned the release of that wretched chemical in my head.

I had been keeping track of flight prices online, but I had been hesitant to buy it just yet because the day with the cheapest airfare is Feb 3rd - merely 3 days after my official end-date at the Bank. I wasn't sure if I was able to pack and clean everything before then. After talking to Chloe, I came to the conclusion that I could probably make it work, and I immediately set out to buy the tickets. Meticulous as I am, I compared the prices once more before settling with the February 3rd one. The moment I got to the payment page, however, my heart rate began to rise. It wasn't like it was an impulse decision to go to London, and I had been certain of it for almost 3 months, but nothing made it more realistic than spending $640 on a one-way ticket. I had been through this payment process multiple times, but suddenly, I couldn't get my apartment number and street number straight and I couldn't remember which province I live in. I also had to fight the urge to refrain from putting London in my billing address. It was very nerve wrecking, and in the end, I picked the wrong flight and checked a box that asked me to pay extra without me realizing that. It was a big fail.

When I told Chloe about it, she got really excited and said it all sounded very romantic. She said I should write a book like Night Train to Lisbon. I wish I had the romantic rendezvous for inspiration, but given my history, there will probably be none. So I suggested some more realistic title like Red Eye Flight to London and The Secret Memoir of MC's Secret Agent: From Reverse Colonization to World Domination.
We had a good laugh as Chloe offered to divert the crowd's attention to give me a chance to make my proposal in secret. She would of course have to rewatch all James Bond movies or... Gossip Girls. We ended up concluding that Gossip Girls would better suit our purpose since it's a such a multi-purpose show.

I mean if a sincere proposal fails, we could always learn how to scheme and blackmail, right?
