Memory: farewell
The first of many farewells
I had always liked my cousin Dickson even though I might only see him a total of 10 times a year. He lived in Hong Kong, and I lived in Canada, and I only see him when I am off from school/work. We don't really talk or connect online either when we're in different countries, but he was a good kid, thoughtful and polite, and most importantly, I feel that I am close to him. I am glad we got to know each other better during his 5 months here living in Ottawa with me, and I know I'll miss him after he left in mid-October 2012.

My Recipe Collection: Swedish Meatballs
Meatballs to remind you of IKEA and Christmas
I came across this awesome recipe when I was looking for a traditional Swedish dish for my twins' birthday. By my twins, I of course meant Henrik and Daneil Sedin of the Vancouver Canucks =) Not expecting much, I was blown away by how good they were, especially since I didn't have most of the required spices! It had so much flavour that I wouldn't have believed the ingredients were as simple if I wasn't the one that made it.

My Recipe Collection: Pork Side/Back Ribs
Pork Side/Back Ribs - for roasting or barbecuing
This recipe requires quite a bit of time, but the ribs end up tasting so good that it's well worth it. The best part is it doesn't require any special dry rub or barbecue sauce to make it taste great.

My Recipe Collection: Bacon Mac & Cheese
The comfort that is Mac & Cheese
I have actually never been big on mac&cheese, and that is mostly because the ones I've had were all made with neon orangy cheddar sauce. They were never too appetizing, and more often than not, too salty or too bland. I have, however, been completely won over by the comfort food of all times after I'd learned how to make the real thing. Like many other dishes, I picked this up because of a guy. Even though the guy might not be around anymore, I guess I'll always have mac&cheese.
My Recipe Collection: Pancakes
Pancakes for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner~
Pancakes are definitely one of my favourite comfort food, especially ideal for a lazy weekend morning. This recipe is easy and makes tasty fluffy pancakes!

The portion is quite big, so I usually half the portion. If I remember correctly, it makes a good 15 pancakes.
Also, you can replace the milk (or some portion of it) with buttermilk or table cream to make it tastier.
Talking about it makes me want to make a batch right now....
